There will be lots of family-friendly entertainment including live music, performances, low-cost kids activities, face painting, airbrush tattoos, sandpit and craft activities. Its iconic free community breakfast will feature the traditional bacon and egg sandwich as well as a healthy option for those who prefer otherwise. There will also be the usual formalities such as the raising of the flag to the National Anthem, City of Salisbury Australia Day Awards and citizenship ceremony.
I had the privilege of attending last year and it was a wonderful celebration. I'm looking forward to this year's celebration. Bring your family and come celebrate at Carisbrooke Park on Main North Road in Salisbury Park. The event is drug and alcohol-free.
Carisbrook Park has been a great picnic spot for at least 45 - 50 years. It has had numerous upgrades over the years. It has huge playground area. Unfortunately vandalism has been an issue. My only concern is watch the children near the water.
