Australia Day Triathalon and Dualthon With a range of distances and categories from novices to serious runners, there is a suitable event for all ages and fitness types at this fun event. If you're not interested in participating, come along and support those that do.
It will be an early start in Mandurah with a cooked breakfast ($5) and plenty of live music. There will be a citizenship ceremony plus local Citizen of the Year awards. Afterwards stay for the huge flotilla of boats that will fill the estuary.
Australia Day Beach Festival Head down to Coogee Beach for the Australia Day Beach Festival. There will be a free sausage sizzle, a watermelon eating competition, sandcastle building, rides and games and live music and performances.
Combined Council Event Traditionally the councils of Cottesloe, Mosman Park and Peppermint Grove do a combined Australia Day celebration, and this year it is Cottesloe's turn to host. There will be a citizenship ceremony plus a free breakfast for all.
Australia Day Morning Ceremony
The City of South Perth's Morning Ceremony at Sir James Mitchell Park will be one of the few events open to the general public to witness and participate in by affirming your loyalty and commitment to Australia and its people by taking the Australian citizenship affirmation. The morning also includes a flag raising ceremony, a citizenship ceremony, a traditional welcome to country, and presentation of the Citizen of the Year awards. A BBQ breakfast ($5) will be provided by Rotary.
Australia Day Celebration Zone
The Australia Day Celebration Zone in South Perth will provide a day of free entertainment for families, with more than 100 free activities spread over the foreshore. There will be activities suitable for everyone from toddlers to seniors. There will also be a range of food vendors as well as ample shade and picnic areas for families to enjoy. This is an alcohol and smoke free event and will become one of the most popular viewing areas for the Skyshow later that night.
Australia Day Skyworks
Perth's favourite free event, the Australia Day Fireworks will once again dazzle the city, hosted by the City of Perth, Lotterywest, Channel Seven and Mix 94.5. The Perth Skyworks has now become the largest Australia Day celebration in the country with free entertainment all day including air shows, water shows, free concerts, entertainment and of course the amazing fireworks.

Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour
Fremantle Council may have decided to try something new in Freo this year, but that isn't stopping local businesses from chipping in and making their own day and night of celebrations. Details are to be finalised, but they plan on holding their own fireworks at the Fishing Boat Harbour.
Australia Day in Armadale
There will be a family friendly celebration in Armadale with an evening of festivities and fireworks. Bring a picnic, enjoy the water park and carnival rides, grab some dinner at the food market and listen to live music. The night will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.
Australia Day - One Day in Fremantle
Something new and different on the Australia Day line-up, the City of Fremantle will be celebrating the multicultural diversity of our country, two days after the national event with a feast of music, culture and conversation. This will be a family-friendly and culturally inclusive event, designed as an alternative to traditional celebrations (with no fireworks), with live music from John Butler, Dan Sultan and Mama Kin.
