Tue 26 Jan 2016
Australia Day, is the biggest day of celebration in the country and is observed as a public holiday in all states and territories. It is the time to ignite our national pride, with a nation of different ethnic backgrounds coming together as one to celebrate our diversities and our similarities.
Australia Day is also a community day, with formal ceremonies being held around the country – celebrations like honoring the traditional land owners, flag raising, citizenship ceremonies and presentations of community awards, but it is also about celebrating the Australian sense of fun, and all those things that make being an Australian unique.
In Cranbourne the hub of celebrations will be at the Cultural Heritage Showcase, a celebration of our rich and diverse cultural heritage. Activities at this free event will include a FREE (yes FREE!) sausage sizzle, food tastings, music, dancing, drumming, exhibitions, arts and crafts, free children's activities and much more.
Date: Tuesday the 26th January, 2016
Time: 11.00am – 4.00pm
Venue: Balla Balla Community Center, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne
