Free Australia Day celebrations from all corners of Victoria

On 26 January 2016, Australia Day is celebrated with great pride and joy. People from all ethnic backgrounds come together to celebrate Australia Day as one united nation. Here is a compilation of the most prominent Australia Day celebrations dotted all over Victoria. Entry to these events and entertainment in these events will be free. Some activities and food/merchandise purchased at these events will incur a cost.

Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony
The Official Flag Raising ceremony will take place at 10:30am on 26 January 2016 in Melbourne Town Hall in the CBD. This ceremony will commemorate the beginning of the Australia Day celebrations. Learn more by going here.

Australia Day Parade
Australia Day Parade will be an exhilarating way of celebrating Australia Day when Melbourne residents will don fancy costumes and rally around Melbourne's streets celebrating all things Australian. This parade will commence at 11am from the Melbourne Town Hall soon after the flag raising ceremony at the Melbourne Town Hall. Click here to discover more details.

Docklands will turn into a fabulous Australia Celebrations hub on 26 January 2016. All along New Quay Piazza & Promenade a plethora of live entertainment and activities will be organised to keep the place buzzing. Kensington Australia Day Festival will be a crowd-puller with its impressive programme itinerary. An Australia Day citizenship ceremony, live musical and dance performances, lamington eating competition, market stalls are some of the many highlights of the day. Greater Dandenong
Greater Dandenong community will celebrate Australia Day with oodles of community events. A welcome to the Country and a Smoking ceremony followed by a flag raising ceremony will herald live stage performances. Market stalls will have an effervescent presence. Family activities, backyard sports, workshops, games, storytelling and kid's activities will be some of the other crowd-pleasers. A dazzling fireworks display to conclude the festival will be the main drawcard. Dromana Foreshore at Point Nepean Road, Dromana will be the arena for the Australia Day celebrations for the residents of Mornington Peninsula from 8am to 1:30pm. A horde of free kid's activities will render the little ones delirious with joy.
