The Greater Dandenong community will welcome Australia Day with great pride and huge celebrations on 26 January 2016 from 3pm to 9:30pm.
The event will kick off with a welcome to the Country and a Smoking ceremony followed by a flag raising ceremony. There will be two stages of live entertainment incorporating live entertainment which will be the highlight of the festival. Food and market stalls will be selling a wide array of food and merchandise. Hordes of free activities will impress young and adults alike. Family activities, backyard sports, workshops, games, storytelling are some of the many activities that will be organised on the day. There will also be exciting rides like giant slide, cha cha, cups and saucers and so on.
A special addition to the festival will be fire pits for toasting marshmellows. The celebrations will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display that will engulf the sky at 9:25pm. Further, there is a special offer for bike-riders. If you ride your bike to the event you will receive two free ride tokens as well as valet bike parking.
Entry to the event is free. The activities are free but the rides will incur a fee.
