A pleasant day overlooking Sydney Harbour
Australia Day is that day of the year when many of us Aussies become patriotic, fly flags, attach flags to our cars, and mix with family and friends. This often takes the form of a typical Australian event - a barbecue!
This Australia Day on 26th January, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, you will be able to join in a free Australia Day Party, where there will be food stalls, live music and children's activities.
Bradfield Park in Milsons Point is hosting a traditional Aussie BBQ with an exciting multicultural twist! This venue has stunning views over Sydney Harbour and offers many festivities.
Some of the events and entertainment include:
Foods from all over the globe
Amazing local bands and DJs
A jumping castle
Native wildlife displays
It will indeed be an event not to be missed by the whole family and this even includes your furry friend, who is also welcome to join in!
Bradfield Park is one of the most spectacular vantage points for the Sydney Harbour Australia Day festivities and a wonderful place to watch the harbour parade, Ferrython, salute to Australia, tug & yacht ballet, tall ships race, and, of course, the 181st Australia Day regatta.
The actual barbecue by the Bridge will be a smoke and alcohol-free event presented by North Sydney Council.
There will be a huge music line up and this will include:
High Rollers Big Band is a premier high energy show band, who perform at high profile events across Australia and internationally. They also do many live music venues, where they play big band tunes and soulful dance hits.
The Bamboos are a group who have had their songs played regularly on playlists of national radio stations in Australia, the UK, France, the US, and Japan. Their songs have a natural charm and also feature in TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, CSI New York, One Tree Hill, Ugly Betty and Australian shows such as Underbelly, House Husbands, Offspring, and Packed To The Rafters.
And of course, food is an important part of this sharing Australia Day, so you will have a good choice of food stalls as follows:
Authentic Turkish Gozleme (one of my favourites!) Pull'n Shots Sydney
Brazilian Flame Bbq
Dolce Bacio Au
Street Sliders Truck
May's Malaysian Hawker
Miss Piggy - Vietnamese Street Food
My Belgian Waffles
Pasalubongs Filipino Soul Food
Sol y Luna
The Juice Bar & Co.
Zaytoona - Authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine
You can check out any of these, plus get more information at their Facebook page.
