Australia Day celebrates the story of an extraordinary nation. It's the perfect day to reflect on our history, it's highs and its lows. A time to celebrate our nation's achievements and most of all, its people We are all part of its history, writing new chapters every day. It's a time to reflect, respect and celebrate. Whichever way you celebrate, formally, informally or simply at a show or a backyard BBQ with family and friends; it's a nod of gratitude from all of us, for the land we live on, and the freedom, fought hard for by our forefathers.

Below are a variety of events all around Victoria; perhaps some in your vicinity, and some just a stones throw away. Follow the links for further details, and unless mentioned otherwise, the events are FREE. Keep in mind, with restrictions in place, events have limited capacity. Stay updated via the Government COVID-19 site and check back with events, as anything could change.

5.30am - Invasion Day Dawn Service - All people (First Nations and Non-Indigenous) living on country in Victoria encouraged to attend at Kings Domain Resting Place, Linlithgow Ave, Melbourne.
2-12pm - Celebrate Australia Day Parade - starting from Queen Victoria Gardens to Catani Gardens near St Kilda Beach. Beach party will follow after the parade.
9am-5pm - Australia Day 2021 - Free food and drinks (water, juice, coffee) at Brimbank Park Carpark B, Keilor Park Drive, Keilor East, but you need to confirm and sign up to participate. Just call or message 5Bs at 0424 806 691 or 0433 207 315.
9.15am-2.30pm - Australia Day Celebrations - Aust Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony (by invite only) and community activities from 10.30am onwards at Ringwood Lake, 168 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood.
8-9.30am - Australia Day Breakfast - Breakfast with Peter Hitchener, OAM & Australian Television Presenter. $40 per head, BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL for buffet breakfast at Hyatt Place Event Centre Melbourne, 1 English St, Essendon Fields. Funds will be supporting Love Me Love You - the designated charity.

12-8pm - Australia Day Collective BBQ - The smoker, spit and BBQ will be running throughout the event. This is the 1st annual York Collective Aust Day BBQ with live music throughout the day. Pool will be open so BYO togs and towels. Free Entry but limited numbers, so guarantee a spot at York On Lilydale, Cnr York Rd & Swansea Rd, Mount Evelyn, and pre-buy a $30 voucher to spend on the day.
11am-5pm - Australia Day Party - Live music with Princeton's Lane, an Aussie BBQ plus regular menu available. Free ticketed event. Get tickets online or call 0419300281 to party at Oneday Estate Winery & Function Centre, 45 Curlewis Rd, Greater Geelong.
7am-3pm - Broadford Australia Day Festival - 73kms away from CBD, a Free ticketed event by Rotary Club Southern Mitchell. REGISTER HERE to attend at Lions Park, High St, Broadford.
12pm - Our Survival Day - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander's Survival Day - Free but donations welcome. Held at The Briars, 450 Nepean Hwy, Mount Martha. Live music, bush walks, Indigenous meditation, weaving and kids activities. Free sausage sizzle or book a picnic basket with a picnic blanket filled with indigenous catering at $30pp. Limited numbers, register here.

4-7pm - Australia Day ta BRYC - $11.64 tickets for event at Black Rock Yacht Club, 10 Cerberus Way, Black Rock with The Noisy Johnnies - LIVE.
10am-4pm - Maltese Festa and Car Display - Event by Knights of Melbourne and Sydney Custom Car Club at Caroline Springs George Cross FC, 46 City Vista Court, Plumpton
9pm Australia Day EVE (25 Jan) to 4am - Made in Beirut - Live entertainment on stage. Ticketed at $27.46 to $212.09. Party at the all new LUX Nightclub, 373 Chapel St, South Yarra.
2pm - Ross Wilson & The Peaceniks present Living in the Land of Oz - ticketed $46.95-$78.55 at The Melbourne Pavilion Live Outdoor, 135-157 Racecourse Rd, Kensington. This very special event takes its name from Ross Wilson's groundbreaking 1976 first solo single
12-3pm - Share the Spirit Festival - A celebration of the survival of Australia's First Nations People. Live music, art and culture at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Kings Domain Gardens, Melbourne.
9am-4pm - Charity Netball Tournament - Raising money for the Magpie Nest Women's Program. An event by CitySide Sports and Collingwood Magpies Netball.

7-8.40pm - Come From Away Australia - ticketed event - The remarkable true story of thousands of stranded passengers & the small town in Newfoundland, Canada that welcomed them. Don't miss this theatre event! At Comedy Theatre, 240 Exhibition St, Melbourne.
7-9.45pm (runs from 25-30 Jan) - Trash Talk and I'm Not Angry, Just Disappointed - Cabaret Double Bill: Tash York & Dolly Diamond - ticketed at The Butterfly Club, 5 Carson Pl, Melbourne. Two huge talents on stage; an amazing cabaret package deal lets you see both.
10am-6pm (running from now up to Aust Day) - Imaginaria - Immersive Play - at The District Dockland, 101 Waterfront Way, Docklands. Ticketed event $29.95. Step into the future. A celebration of imagination, technology and play. Fully interactive bespoke sounds, scents and lights activate in response to your movement as you walk, slide and glide through the dreamlike landscapes.
10am-6pm (running from now right through to 15 Feb) - ArtVo Immersive Gallery Experience at Level 1, 26 Star Crescent, Docklands. Ticketed event $28.50. An immersive art or 'trick art' gallery, the first of its kind in Australia, where you are encouraged to touch the art and become part of the art by taking photographs from designated points on the floors of the gallery.
