is an independently owned Australian food delivery service. They offer great food that is all sourced from local companies and farmers, which makes it not only really convenient for you but fantastic for local growers and businesses. Available in many parts of Australia, Aussie Farmers aims to revitalise the local milkman, delivering the basics like fresh bread and milk as well as most things you need day to day.

offers over 170 products, with new and seasonal ones being added all the time. You're under no obligation to buy a certain amount of food or continue to order, which I find to be a great advantage. The company is made up of franchisees, all working in your local area, so again this serves to keep up your local friendly service with jobs in your community. They supply you with an insulated bag to leave at your doorstep to receive your order.

I've been using for over 3 years now with nothing but perfect service. Our milk order is delivered quite late at night or in the early hours of the morning, so often we don't see our milkmen. Whenever we do, they are all smiles and are genuinely friendly. Every so often we find a newsletter and magazine in our bag which updates us on new products, events, fundraisers and in season produce as well as what has been going on in the lives of the farmers and our delivery team.

The fruit and vegetable boxes are a huge drawcard for the company. You can select from a range of boxes, in either couples or family sizes. Boxes can be mixed or fruits/vegetables only. There's also an organic option for those who enjoy their fruit all natural.

I have been very impressed by the freshness, size and quality of all the fruits and vegetables I've received in my boxes so far. None of the products have ever arrived in less than perfect condition and have lasted a really long time.

Each week there is a variety of different fruits or vegetables included, so you don't get tired of eating the same thing all the time. The staples are included, such as apples, oranges, carrots and potatoes, but you get few interesting additions to keep you on your toes.

Another plus for these fruit and vegetable boxes is that all the fruit is seasonal, locally sourced and a good deal fresher than what you would find in your local supermarket - no overseas imports here. I also find that the amount of fruit in a couple's box is more than enough to please my family, with around 30 pieces included.

You also have the option to make up your own box from the selection available on the website. You can change your order from week to week for any product, so this is a great option for those who get bored easily or have differing needs from one week to the next. You can check on their website what will be in the next week's box, but I like to keep it a surprise.

If you like buying your meat in bulk, also offers meat packs, ranging from a standard BBQ pack to chicken, pork or lamb. These would be ideal to break up into individual serves to freeze if you live alone. Their meat is a little on the pricey side, but once you factor in the quality and the fact you're supporting farmers and local businesses rather than the supermarket giants, it's not so bad.

You also have the option to choose different cuts of meat to have delivered to your door. These include cuts of chicken, pork, lamb, beef, kangaroo and seafood. Towards the end of the year offers you the option to organise yourself for Christmas, with hams and turkey available.

Aside from the Greengrocer and Butcher options, you can order your milk, bread, deli meats, ready prepared meals, muesli, dairy products and eggs through the Milkman. All of these are from Australian companies, which is great for our local communities.
You can make a donation to the Aussie Farmers Foundation as a one off or with your weekly order, which helps fund local charities and projects such a Camp Quality, The Benevolent Society, Royal Far West and Alzheimer's Australia.

So if you're interested in helping to support your local community, like truly fresh produce, want the convenience of planning your meals ahead and having the fresh ingredients delivered for free to your door, is a great company to consider.
