This August, the Rag Trade Market will be celebrating 1000 £ Bend's fifth birthday, hosting an array of market stalls filled with treasures, delicious shortbread, beverages, and a new mending / crafting workshop for beginners.
Unlike Camberwell Market, The Rag Trade Market is an indoor shopping event, based at 1000 £ Bend, 361 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, which means you'll not have to face the wrath of Melbourne's brisk winter.
As well as pre-loved goodies, shoppers are also treated to live music, food and beverages. As an additional extra, the Rag Trade Market also welcomes the Melbourne Alt Crafters presenting DIY "Things Your Nanna Knew" workshops.
The first workshop this August, will be based on the most basic of mending skills that so many have forgotten, sewing buttons and miscellaneous button craft.
There will be a little stitching and learning, coupled with making little bracelets, hair slides and necklaces from an enormous jar of old buttons.

Shoppers are encouraged to bring their de-buttoned clothes that need mending, and to drop in at any time between 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Usually, the Rag Trade Market is held on the third Saturday of each month, however this time the market will be on the fourth Saturday: 24th August 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Spend your Saturday rummaging with the best of them in stalls filled with vintage and second hand wares, stop for a drink and bite to eat, and perhaps participate in a little craft. Entry to the market is free.
