You must visit the largest boatshed in the Southern Hemisphere

In 1893, Audley Boatshed was established and today this historic place of interest is still attracting the crowds to explore the tranquil Hacking River and Kangaroo Creek.

Located in the spectacular Royal National Park, Audley Boatshed is a must-visit attraction as it is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and explore the serenity of nature as well.

Getting ready to explore the Hacking River & Kangaroo Creek.

With all equipment for hire including rowboats, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, aqua bikes and mountain bikes, Audley Boatshed certainly does have you covered for your nature wonderland experience!

Waving goodbye to the historic boatshed.

Being not just a historic boatshed, Audley Boatshed also takes the cake for being the largest boatshed in the Southern Hemisphere as well as being a gateway to exploring and experiencing the best of the Royal National Park's natural beauties, including the Hacking River and its surrounds as well as discovering secluded swimming holes.

Enjoying the tranquility of the Hacking River & Kangaroo Creek.

If rowing your boat down the river is not your thing or you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can hire a mountain bike from the Boatshed and cycle along Lady Carrington Drive alongside the Hacking River as well as exploring the spectacular bush and forest trails within Royal National Park.

Relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the Creek and its lush bushland.

If you want to make a day out of this experience, pack a picnic (in a waterproof bag, of course) and row your water-based vessel upstream to one of the lovely nearby picnic spots including the Ironbark Flat or Wattle Forest Picnic areas and enjoy a bite to eat in the relaxing surroundings before rowing back to the Boatshed and calling it a day.

Beautiful sandstone can be seen as you paddle or row your way down the River & Creek.

Audley Boatshed certainly makes a perfect idyllic day out, escaping the daily busy routine of life.

Whether you row down the river or cycle beside it, be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife, marine life and of course birds!

Keep an eye out for the cute river turtles.
