It's a cold day. The weather cannot decide between bucketing down with rain or ravaging the poor souls brave enough to venture outside with cyclonic winds. It's about 9:30am and I've found myself at the Claremont Quarter.

The shopping centre was sterile and I felt very much out of place wandering down the strip. My body was begging me for a warm drink and so I set about finding a cafe.

I knew the area of Claremont was a little on the pricey side, but what the cafes were charging was ridiculous. Finally, I settled into the . The place was buzzing, and whilst it wasn't entirely comfortable temperature wise, it was still warmer then outside.

I ordered a hot chocolate and a stack of pancakes. My...was I shocked when it came out.

$5 for a hot chocolate and it was served in something no bigger then a Chinese teacup. There was real chocolate flakes on top, but that was about the highlight of it.

Then came my breakfast.

If $16 got me three silver-dollar sized pancakes then I'm glad I didn't pay the $19 for the bacon and eggs.

Despite the high price the food was pretty decent. I wouldn't say it was entirely worth it, but I suppose if you can afford to live in Claremont.
