It can be a wonder at times where creative ideas manifest? Do you sit down to write and words flow onto the paper or are you out walking the dog or doing the shopping and something you see sparks a thought, that can be visualised into a television series or blockbuster film?

Wherever you start or where your inspiration comes from, you may like to take part and enter the inaugural ATAGUB Mini Film & Script Competition. Deadline for all entries if 7th June 2020. Each entrant will receive a one-month subscription to theatrebugs.vhx.tv to watch all the movies by 12th June 2020.

This is an opportunity for you to tell your story by using whatever instrument you have at home. It could be a tablet, smartphone or camera. Whatever you choose to use, please utilise your creativity to produce a three-minute visual story or script for a chance to win $500 and other awards in this event.

There are two competitions you may like to enter and you can enter as many times as you like, however, each entry will cost $37.50. The choices are listed to produce a three-minute film, a slideshow with voice over, a documentary, a music video, a musical or an animation or write a three-page script.

Entries must follow one of these themes:

  • Junior (up to 12 years of age): "Mystery at Number (Insert your house number)" or "It was the Craziest Day of my Life"
  • Youth (13 to 18 years): "Am I Really Insta-Famous?" or "You Can't Ask Me That!"

  • A step-by-step guide for short film writing and/or production can be obtained by emailing [email protected]

If your desire has always been to write a novel or enter the film industry, this competition is for you. More information can be read here .
