Take it easy and enjoy a superb authentic Thai meal @t Ease. We luckily stumbled on this one year old venue while walking up Lonsdale street, which over the last 5 years has shifted from a string of Greek restaurants, to now hosting some Asian delights in between.

One such delight being, @t Ease, a café style venue with simple wooden tables, that seats around 30 people, welcomes BYO wine, and leaves you happy, calm, and @t ease while you enjoy your meal. Menu options include Chang Mai specialities such as mixed seafood pancake stack with cooked bean shoots and sriracha sauce, Ka-Nom Jeen - Nam Ngeow, and Sukhothai, as well as the more familiar to Australians dishes such as Pad Thai, green curry, satay skewers, and Tom Yum soup.

The wait staff are welcoming, attentive, and happy to assist with all queries, including showing you photos of the dishes on their mobile devices to make the decision process of selection from the menu somewhat easier. With so many mouth watering tempting options, in reality the photos made the decision more difficult for me - I wanted to try everything! I was happily convinced to select the authentic Northern Thai home cooked "available only in the restaurant" option from the specials board, and was delighted by my choice.

We started with home made fish cakes, my gold standard measure for Thai restaurants. These tasted just like the ones I had in Krabi, a mixture of white and red fish, delicate spices, lightly pan fried and served with two dipping sauces: sweet chilli and a light tangy vinaigrette with cucumber and fresh chilli; both perfectly complimenting the fish.

For mains, my dining partner chose chicken curry on rice. Her expression and reaction was guarantee enough that we would return here. Her summary "Even though I'm full from the large portion, I don't want to stop eating because it's so good!"

My thoughts precisely as I happily devoured my Ka-Nom Jeen Nam-Ya. A traditional Chiang Mai fish curry where the fish is blended with coconut milk and fragrant spices and served as a gravy poured over fish balls. Served with lovely balls of rice noodles on the side (so they keep fresh) topped with bean shoots and pickled cabbage to compliment and cut through the spice. An explosion of flavours in your mouth, this dish is highly recommended!

With the beautiful aromas noticeable upon entry, like walking into someone's home kitchen, I am confident that every menu item is worth writing home about.

This wonderfully laid back, calming restaurant, @t Ease, has seriously divine food, and accommodates for gluten free, vegan, FODMAP friendly diets – just speak to the staff! The next morning I was already planning my next visit there!
