Astrology: Superstition or Science? - Free Course

Have you ever wondered about astrology- whether it works, and if so, how? The James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) offers this free unit for use for use in middle school and high school (recommended for grades 6-12). This course will help students to consider the facts and draw their own conclusions. It includes both a teacher's guide and student's guide, which are free to download from the JREF's website . These include illustrations, background information, points for discussion and three experiments you can do either by yourself or with a group to help you decide for yourself whether or not astrology works.

The James Randi Educational Foundation was founded in 1996 by magician and sceptic, James Randi, with the aim of educating the public and the media about pseudo-scientific claims and supporting research into paranormal claims under controlled scientific experimental conditions. It provides educational videos, podcasts and free online courses for different age groups (from primary school to adults) about topics such as science-based medicine, astronomy and dowsing.

Astrology: Superstition or Science? Encourages critical thinking in a fun, approachable way. It's a great free resource for teachers and home educators.
