Astor Theater, located in St Kilda, is one of the few single screen movie theaters still operating in the whole world.
The construction of Astor Theater began in late 1935 and was completed by April 1936. Whilst, the theatre's interior remains mostly unchanged since the 1930's, there is nothing old-fashioned about the service provided here. The screen is state of the art and the theatre is equipped with everything you would find at your typical cinemas.
The Astor shows a combination of classics, cult favourites and new releases. It certainly has something for everyone.
The cinema is recognised as a landmark of Melbourne and has even scored a spot on the Victorian heritage register.
