Located top of Aston Street, Toowong, where it meets Burns Road, is , Brisbane's ninth smallest park . For its 188 square metres, it does indeed have two Google reviews, with one describing it as 'not a proper park', but with its place in the top ten smallest, it can't get much more proper than that! Also near Perrin Park , which is located at the bottom of the hill on either Burns Road or Mayne Street. Another important related fact about Aston Street is the heritage-listed house (the Bowersholme) at the other end of Aston Street. It's an old, fairly central street in Toowong, so its location makes it worth visiting in its own right. It also has a place on brisparks.com.au .





Experientially, it had no facilities, and I totally realise why it got that description of 'not a proper park'. Yes, it's not all that proper, leading me to hopefully explain in future small park articles as to what actually is the meaning of the list obtained from the Brisbane City Council Data Set that yields the top ten smallest parks list. I do recommend, however, not taking too many photos, for lots of reasons. It's a pretty small space, and hopefully, I have achieved a bit of an idea on why it is 188 square metres, Brisbane's ninth smallest, and what a nice little spot it is. It's a gorgeous little enclave and if you walk to the middle of Aston Street, possibly to get to Laugher Park , Toowong Village or UQ , then you get four-way views, a bit tree-interrupted but charming all the same.

It was my task to sum the place up in photos and hopefully, I have shown that the place has a little bit of charm and space, as well as a few small photo opportunities, but that aside, it's actually quite hard to hang around there. You feel (even though it is a public space) that it's a bit imposing on the place next door, so I wasn't keen to really take it in. I think in doing that, however, it's a good example to other photographers, not to be too imposing and respect the serenity of the area. Its serenity combined with the busy Moggill Road a few metres away, matters to a certain extent, especially to the residents. I realise it's a fine balance between a fun story of small parks and the reality that people's homes are usually right amongst these allotments, so to keep my pictures fairly obscure from private property isn't such a bad thing. It means such pocket-sized green space delights can be enjoyed and not become too imposing on the limitations of such an idea.

I've left below a list showing Aston Street at number 10 row, subtracting one row for the categories, and that is number ninth place in Brisbane. It uses geography, so the column of Shape_area on the far right, is the area in square metres, beside it is Shape_length, which is perimeter, the odd terminology is in my estimation related to geographical science or spatial science.

I didn't mind the place, it is just a fun place to see for a few seconds, and in doing that could get some cool photos without too many issues.
