Sunrise Steps by Kathy Vasic

ASSP Gallery Shop in Port Adelaide is currently presenting 'Blupebbleroad', a stunning solo photographic exhibition by Kathy Vasic.

Since opening in February 2015, ASSP Gallery Shop has swiftly formed a reputation for supporting established and up and coming Port Adelaide and LeFevre Peninsula artists.

Open Monday to Fridays and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm*, their latest vibrant exhibition 'Blupebbleroad', will run until 20 November 2016 and showcases the works of talented photographer Kathy Vasic.

Kathy, a passionate photographer, was initially a highly skilled colour correction technician and managed a photographic processing studio in Sydney. After moving to Adelaide, she continued to hone her skills in colour enhancement in the role of a photographer's assistant and in 2003 formed her own company with her husband, Peter.

However Kathy suffered a stroke in 2011 and was unable to remain involved with her company. During her time of convalescence, Kathy's passion for photography was reignited and she started to work on a series of Adelaide landscapes and cityscapes, which she only shared with friends and family. Images included Adelaide Oval, Adelaide Bridge, Rotunda and the new Convention Centre.

Kathy also began experimenting with the metal printing processes and invented her own novel technique, whereby her impressive images were printed onto a range of metal surfaces.

This special exhibition displays Kathy's expert skills and captures Australia's natural beauty and history at its very best. Complementing the Adelaide series of cityscapes and landscapes are black and white still life portraits of people, food and plants. From the raw images captured by the camera lens to the final process of metal printing, the images glow and flicker with luminous light.

The result is a unique collection of portraits and landscapes, highlighted with vibrant colours and effects which flow through the prints and play with the senses of visitors.

Come along and visit this FREE exhibition this Spring! ASSP Galley Shop is situated in the heart of the Port Adelaide and continues to provide locals, interstate and international visitors with a visionary experience that enhances and revitalises the Port Adelaide region.

Kathy is also participating in 'Meet & Greet' sessions every Thursday from 5.00pm-8.00pm

The displayed artworks are also available for sale and make great investment pieces.
