Located halfway between the Brisbane suburbs of Aspley and Carseldine on Gympie Road, the is a quality place to stay or enjoy a meeting. With a wide-ranging selection of rooms, the motel caters for large families as well as business and leisure-based solo travellers and any range of group sizes between those limits. According to their website , the motel has eight types of rooms - some basic while others have spas and kitchenettes. I noticed they have some good concepts at play in this motel, such as triple sheets, polite and dedicated staff who work most of the day to make the place great, and cleanliness of rooms along with a range of rooms, the relevance of rooms and meeting/conference facilities.

Hopefully, I can explain why staying here was slowly growing on me in a good way. Although I knew to hand in my keys early to avoid the Monday morning peak hour traffic going home, I felt like just sitting around and trying to get some breakfast nearby - due to not ordering my breakfast from the motel the night prior. The cleanliness of the rooms and the spaciousness of the entire property had left me wanting more time there, just to live a bit more space, as Aspley is in fact an outer suburb, so living in an inner suburb, I don't always get to feel that spacious type of quality of life.

But now I will try and address the positives of the property. I found it was worth the price paid of 105 dollars for a superior queen room at the time paid, and the motel had consistency, and the ability to live up to its promises on its website and in its guest fact sheet. It's possible to get food delivered to the property which is under 24-hour surveillance for the security of staff and clientele but delivery drivers are allowed to drive in and deliver food to your door. Although in saying that, there is plenty of shops within walking distance at either Aspley or Carseldine on Gympie Road or nearby Graham Road.

I stayed in a superior queen room. I like how they call their rooms better, that says to me that they aren't happy with their rooms not being superior, so I liked that aspect. I never tried the TV but sitting on the triple sheets was good, the pillows were quality, as was the bathroom fittings. The bar fridge was good, as was the overall cleanliness, carpet quality was super plush, and the quality of coffee and soaps/shampoos was great.

The pool is bigger than the photos indicated. I sensed you could get a proper swim in it. It looked clean and spacious by motel standards, so I was very keen on a swim, but it is close to the main road whilst maintaining some privacy due to the high wall on the Gympie Road side of the property.

Reception is well signed and well organised with the usual tour brochures all stacked up on a stand along with a taxi ordering specialty phone/device. Reception is open 8 am to 9 pm and they don't ask for cash deposits for that particular room of superior queen room at the time of writing/publication but do request identification. I think requesting identification is a fairly sound idea in that situation and helps keep some sort of insurance about the legitimacy of stays.

The entrance is on a street called Stay Place, which is just off Gympie Road. Keep in mind your ride or taxi, if facing north, will need to go a little past the motel and then do a U-turn, but if coming south from Carseldine, it will be directly on the left at Stay Place. From there it's only a few paces down Stay Place, with clear and easy access. It did have great parking good for four-wheel drive vehicles. Smoking is not allowed in units and can only be done at designated locations on the grounds.

Laundry is clearly signed and looked clean with most machines new or modern, and with staff contactable throughout the stay, is easy to access or get change for. According to the fact sheet I got on my stay, they are coin-operated, and from the photos, look coin-operated.

There are a few more points about this accommodation which I can basically paraphrase from my phone scan of my room's fact sheet.

- there are 25 eateries in the surrounding area with many delivering to the motel.

- Covid safe check-ins are required using the Check-in Qld app.

- free internet is available from reception.

- a 680 bus stops around the corner going to Chermside Westfield.

- city train at Carseldine Station is a 20-minute walk away on Beams Road.

- there are phones in the units to contact reception.

- Breakfast is served by motel from 7-8 am daily.

- unless in a self-contained unit, no cooking is allowed on the property.

- motel is also reachable at [email protected] or (07) 3263 5988.

- fax and photocopying is available from reception.

- there are policies to eliminate excessive noise as well as lost property policies at the motel.

- the motel has conference and meeting facilities, as seen linked here .

- there are nice gardens throughout and around the property.

- the Aspley Hypermarket is nearby.

- the Aspley Hornets Aussie Rules Football club is nearby on Graham Road.

I appreciated my one night stay and had no concerns at all - in fact, I wanted to stay longer! Thanks to the staff there for their work and for making my life easy, triple sheets were well appreciated, and I can see why that pool is going to be popular in summer. I found the quality of the stay grew on me the longer I was there, so that is something I really value when at motels.
