Pyrmont is a good place to hang around. Famous spots Darling Harbour and Sydney Fish Market are all within walkable distance. You can find Pirrama Park and Waterfront Park towards the end around Johnstons Bay, where you can enjoy large pieces of grass and have barbecue with family and friends. At night you can go to the Star or nearby bars to get a cocktail or beer you like and have a chat with your beloved ones. All these activities are good for chilling out. But Pyrmont is not only all about these. There is a secret place you might want to have a look next time when you are there.
While walking towards Central along Harris Street, you will come across a flyover while reaching Fig Street. It seems nothing special over there. But if you walk at night, you can see something are lightening up under the bridge.
What is that? Warm orange colour luminous poles are supporting the bridge and they are branch shaped. I don't know if there is any meaning of the artwork. I was amazed by the creativity of having these there. It is kind of integrated with our daily lives and at the same time providing a little surprise for pedestrians.
This 'installation' reminds me that everything around us can be interesting and worth seeing. Too many good things are neglected by people while we are all busying with the online world. There are some questions that I still need to find the answers. W
hy are they there? How can they get the electricity and light up? Maybe it is time for you to find the answer.
How to get there:
It just sits right under the flyover at Bulwara Road near Fig Street. Just spend some time walking around Pyrmont and find this awesome inspiration yourself.
