If returning to work after the holidays has proved stressful or if something has happened in your life to tip the scales, then perhaps you might like to attend one of the following events. You can attend them all of course as well. They take place in various venues but their cornerstone is the holistic approach to wellbeing and the cultural connections between Brisbane and Asia.

There are some passionate and able people who are keen to impart some of their knowledge and practice to help you achieve wellbeing and balance in your life.

YOGA PHILOSOPHY

Aren't we all fascinated by this subject - I have had reason to look at it even more in recent weeks. Did you know that Yoga is an ancient practice which dates back some 5000 years and it started on the Indian sub continent and first appeared in some scriptures in India called the Vedas? The father of Yoga is called Pathanjali who recognised how complicated and diverse the practice of yoga was even then. He put it together in something called the Yoga Sutras and developed an eight limbed path for the practice of Yoga which leads to enlightnement. This became known by its popular name of Ashtanga Yoga.

The yoga that became very popular in the West is called Hatha Yoga and is practised widely by yogis and yoga practitioners.

Why is yoga good for you?

The physical strengthening of the body, core strength and flexibility.
It encourages a healthy lifestyle.
It boosts immunity and improves sleep.
It teaches better breathing.
It fosters calmness.
Reduces stress.
Increases self confidence.

The practice of Yoga on a daily basis therefore brings tangible benefits and helps achieve physical and mental wellbeing.

So go along to a session of Yoga Philosophy to find out more
