Canton Seafood Restaurant & #8195 ;

Some Asian restaurants are very ordinary, and Canton Seafood Restaurant is definitely not ordinary in their choice of quality meals.

With specials like fresh crab dishes, fish and lobster, all of which you can pick from a tank, this Restaurant has a large menu for dinner and a smaller one for lunch. The lunch menu is just $12.50 for many meals.

The decor is simple but comfortable with paper tablecloths, very typical Asian decorations, and fast service.

We were immediately asked if we wanted Chinese tea, and this is always refreshing to sip during, and in between courses.

We are eating our way through local Asian restaurants to find out who has the best Peking Duck, so this was one of the meals we chose.

As is normal for Peking Duck, the waitress served this delicacy of duck skin with a wafer thin Chinese pancake, cucumber, onion and carrot strips, and Hoi Sin sauce. The duck meat was so tender and unlike when I make it at home!

She put all the ingredients onto the pancake and we rolled it up ourselves. We ate with fingers though this is possibly not the politest way to eat, but it seemed impossible to eat with chopsticks!

There were two courses in this meal, and the second was a delicious san choy bow with duck meat, which is in a lettuce leaf. Once again, not very elegant to eat as we had to use our fingers again!

One of our party did not eat duck, so we ordered a garlic chicken dish and the smell of garlic wafted through the air. The chicken was served with plain rice to lap up the sauces and of course, there was a bowl of chilli on our table.

They also do Yum Cha from 11 am and for this, they bring trays around in bamboo, lift the lid so you can see what is underneath, and you pick what you want. There is a variety of foods including prawns dishes, dumplings, dessert, and more.

We finished the meal with a mango pudding. This was light, not very sweet and a delicious end to a lovely meal.

The good thing about this restaurant is not only the taste of the food, but also the price. It is very inexpensive and for the Peking Duck you can choose between a half duck at $30 for the two courses, or a full duck at $59.

Situated on the outside of the Coventry Village, in Walter Road, Morley this is always an excellent meal. I have been there many times, and at night they are very busy however in the day they are not. The service was very good and the wait staff friendly.

[b] A highly recommended restaurant, particularly for dinner**
