If you want to enjoy bushland, gardens, city views and rock art all at one place then Ashton Park in Mosman provides you with the same. Located close to Taronga Zoo, Ashton park is a part of Sydney Harbour National Park and this park is extremely popular because of its magnificent amphitheatre and breathtaking views of the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison.

To reach Ashton Park you can get down at the Taronga Wharf or else from Mosman you can follow Military Road onto Bradleys Head Road. The park's foreshore head called Bradley's head is a famous venue for weddings and events as it offers a unique and picturesque view. Historic cannons that once defended Sydney are still in place in the Bradleys Head fortifications. There is also an old unused pier leading out into the water and a small lighthouse tucked around the corner.

For taking a bushland walk there is a track from the park to Clifton Gardens around Bradleys Head. This provides an ideal opportunity to view the major Sydney icons such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and Fort Denison while on a gentle stroll in a natural bushland setting. The park is also accessible at all times for general picnic use.

The Athol Hall within the park has wonderful grassland again with excellent views and a cafe too. You can check out more pictures of the park here.

This beautiful garden is one of Sydney's popular spots for picnics, weddings or just a small bushwalking experience.
