Shakespeare under the stars
The Little Fish theatre company have successfully presented three seasons of Shakespeare on manicured lawns around McLaren Vale, so for this, the fourth, they have chosen the Bard's cheeky farce As You Like It.
The tangled tale of the adventures of two young ladies, Rosalind and Celia, in the Forest of Arden, follows all of Shakespeare's tried and true themes of inter-family squabbles, young love, cross dressing and false identity, providing us all the while with many a laugh.
Little Fish is the performance arm of the JamaeRaw School of Performing Arts and the young cast throw themselves into their roles with great enthusiasm. There's live music, a touch of naughtiness and general camaraderie to draw in and entertain their audiences.

Once again, they are presenting their play in the gardens of the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre and guests are invited to bring a rug or low chair and a picnic to enjoy while watching. The bar will be open (so no BYO, please) and cheese platters will be available for purchase. There will be three performances at this venue, on 9th and 16th January at 7 pm, and 14th February at 4pm, plus two more at The Singing Gallery in McLaren Vale on February 5th and 6th. There will be a further two to be held at Bricks and Mortar in Norwood on 19th and 20th February. Tickets are $20 and available online here.
