If you have a skill or passion for arts and crafts and would like to develop it in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere, this community centre may just be the answer to your prayers.

Artrageous Arts and Crafts Centre (84-88 Loftus Street, Deagon) is a volunteer run community centre on the north side that has been supporting artistic pursuits for more than a decade. The centre presents a creative outlet for its patrons by providing a range of classes for beginners and experts, and can also be used to host events like mothers groups, gallery exhibitions and other community events.

In 2011, Artrageous will host regular drawing and painting classes on weeknights, as well as an unstructured Craftrageous session on Friday mornings, where participants can bring along unfinished craft projects and work in a friendly environment with their peers. There will also be exhibitions and competitions throughout the year; keep an eye on the website to stay informed.

The centre is also looking for more volunteers to help run classes so if you have any artistic skill and are interested in helping out, you can express your interest on their website.
