Thousands of ping pong balls delight kids' imagination
As the nursery rhyme tells us "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"!
As part of Open House Melbourne, ArtPlay is opening up their creative art studio for children and their families to enjoy. Children are encouraged to let their imagination run wild while exploring and creating high-quality art. ArtPlay's Ball Room artist's belief is that "play" is an essential ingredient for opening the mind to creative ideas.
When the children walk into the room, thousands of ping pong balls, PVC piping and more will be available for every child to use in play. Ping Pong WoW is the signature participatory work from the artists, which they see as giving the children hours of endless manifestations of play. This event is for children from three years to eight years and is suitable for all abilities. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Dates and times for this event is for Saturday 28th July and Sunday 29th July 2018 are holding two sessions each day from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2.00 to 4.00pm. This is a free event.
ArtPlay host several other activities including mosaics to puppetry, circus to indigenous art, collage to singing, ceramics to performance and creative art movement to sculpture. Bookings are essential for all activities, however, there are also free drop-in workshops available at times.
