On one art packed weekend, 7 Fremantle homes open their doors for the home-turned-gallery festival event of the year. In its second year, the annual Artist Open House Fremantle (AOHF) event gives you the chance to see the artwork of over 35 artists from WA and the east side of Australia. Last year 2500-3000 art lovers participated in the event. Free and without a set tour, let your curiosity guide you through the residential gallery.

Two of the houses belong to artists who will be showcased. House 2# belongs to Leonie Mansbridge, while House 8# belongs to Alessandra Rossi (who is featured in this year's poster). The other homes belong to art supporters. New to this year's AOHF, is a Styled Home by stylist Jo Carmichael. The support of the local community and the City of Fremantle has been fantastic, with more sponsors and supporters growing this year.



If visitors are interested in purchasing any of the artwork on show, there will be a team of dedicated volunteers at each house to assist. All artwork displayed will be available for purchase. Simply approach the sales desk. AOHF accepts cash, credit card, eftpos and lay-by (30%). Of the 200 plus pieces of original art and 500 ceramic pieces and prints that were sold last year, many were bought on the first day.

Artwork that is purchased will likely remain on the walls until the end of the event. Ceramic pieces can be taken home immediately. In the Styled Home, Ms Carmichael will furnish and style it entirely. In this house only, everything in the house, not just the artwork, will be up for sale.



All the houses will be opened at the same times, which will differ depending on the day. The house addresses are listed in the event guide. Visitors can leisurely browse through the artwork and beautiful homes at their own pace. The event is located in South Fremantle and all the houses are in walking distance of each other. A special preview event will be hosted for Friends of the AOHF, sponsors, homeowners and VIPs for a first look at the pieces that will be on show.

Showcasing and dealing art in a residential environment is integral to AOHF. This year Ms Read has also brought art from eastern artists to give Perth art lovers a chance to see first hand works by artists with savvy media presences in other states. She said that enthusiasm for the AOHF from the local community has been enormous. Ms Read expects the number of visitors for AOHF 2015 will double.
