Arthurs Seat Trail Rides is another great idea for the upcoming school holidays. Although these trail rides are not as well known as others on the Mornington Peninsula they have actually been operating for over 30 years with the current owners Ozzie and Elizabeth Surrey.
I have ridden show and dressage horses for most of my teenage life, it's a wonderful sport to be involved in.
Trail riding gives people the opportunity to ride, learn basic horsemanship skills and experience the joy and freedom that comes with riding a horse, without the expense and commitment of having to own your own horse.
Arthurs Seat Trail Rides have plenty of different horses to suit all abilities. For beginners that need a quiet mount with plenty of experience whilst confident riders will be paired with a horse that matches their capabilities . Rest assured, Elizabeth has years of experience in selecting the right horse for each rider, to get the most enjoyment out of your trail riding experience.
The rides begin at the riding school on Purves Rd and head south to the end of Purves Rd and take a left turn down Baldry Rd crossing over the road at the Main Ridge Pony Club and into Greens Bush. After completing a loop in Greens Bush it's back to the riding school.
Rides last for approximately 2 hours and cost $40, which is pretty good value when you consider the expenses of keeping horses.
Rides depart at 11am and 2pm daily during school holidays.
I'm sure you will find your trail ride with Ozzie and Elizabeth extremely enjoyable.
