To kick off the first MCA ARTBAR for 2016, artist Rosie Deacon will curate the evening filled with exotic colours and crazy objects in an evening of magical kitsch, craft and Australiana dubbed 'Koala Nutbush'.

On Thursday 29 January, 7pm -11pm the Museum will be transformed into a tantalizing 1980's Aussie backyard inhabited by handmade colourful foam animal sculptures.

– Bush Ranger Bob's interactive dance performance
– Getting a hole-in-one at the glittering mini putt-putt golf course
– Meeting Teena the sausage dog
– Giselle Stanborough's performative lecture on 'Farmer Wants a Wife'
– Live music by The Willy Wagtail Western All Stars
– Taking a trip to the Golden Gumnut Cottage
– Tunes spun by DJ Sveta on the rooftop bar

There will also be roaming artworks, classic Aussie birthday party games to enjoy and world-class views of Sydney Harbour.

ARTBAR happens after dark every month. Exhibitions, music, and performance come together under the direction of a guest curator, transforming the MCA into a pulsating piece of performance art.
