The countdown is on! Not long now until the opening of the annual Art with Altitude exhibition held in stunning Mount Glorious. This year will see this much-loved exhibition opening on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November 2019 from 9.00am till 4.00pm each day.
The wonderfully creative communities of Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo first came together in 2015 to form a local art exhibition presenting to the public a diverse collection of art from renowned and emerging artists in a variety of media. This small but dearly loved exhibition has grown year by year, to become a much-anticipated annual event on Brisbane's art calendar.
Held in idyllic rainforest surrounds in the Community Hall on the top of Mount Glorious, a day out to this exhibition will see you revelling in the pure fresh cool mountain air, community camaraderie and local hospitality like no other. With a family-friendly, festival-like feel, the Art with Altitude exhibition also includes live music, quality craft markets, food, barista coffee, working art demonstrations, raffles and prizes.
Christmas is fast approaching and here you can tick off that gift list in a one shop stop. All artwork is for sale and includes media from sculpture, paintings, (watercolour, acrylic, oil) glasswork, jewellery, ceramics, pen and ink, photography, woodwork… the list goes on!
Mount Glorious is a short drive up through the D'Aguilar National Park from Samford, North West of Brisbane CBD. The drive itself is magical. Listen out for the Bellbirds on your way up the mountain and wind down the window to inhale the fresh, scented air.
Details for this annual event and a small selection of works on offer can be found on www.mountglorious.org.au website. This event is proudly sponsored by Samford Community Bank and Moreton Bay Regional Council and is assured to be as fabulous as ever!
