Combining art, mess and toddlers, ART PLAY presents a series of educational creative and sensory play sessions for young children. These will give the child the opportunity to get messy, play and be creative!

Each session is designed to develop a range of the child's skills, from pre-literacy and pre-numeracy to fine-motor co-ordination, as well as to openness to "experience and emotional intelligence".

ART PLAY will be on for five weeks and each session will go for an hour.

Combining art, mess and toddlers, ART PLAY is a process art play group which runs casual sessions for little kids (and their grownups) in Perth, Western Australia.

The sessions are actually created for children aged 18 months to 4 years old in mind. However, the activities can sometimes be adapted to suit younger children than 18 months, as well as older children, and this is sometimes done for older siblings during the school holidays.

Classes are casual and you can book earlier in the week by text, email or direct message on Facebook. If you want to book at a late stage, please send a text and note that there must also be an adult accompanying each child or each family of children.

At the moment, ART PLAY runs one casual session a week, on Fridays from 9.30 am to 10.15 am.

Classes are casual and cost $15 per session for one child, and an extra $5 for each sibling over the age of 2 years (siblings under 2 years are free).

Please note that it is important to book the session you want, as there are limited spaces each week.

Everything is included (except smocks) and there is no need to bring anything. It will get messy, so dress in clothes that can get dirty, or bring a smock!

ART PLAY sessions are held in the Woodville Reserve Pavilion, on the corner of Fitzgerald St. and Farmer St. in North Perth. This is a fairly "nondescript brown-brick council building" which is on the oval, next to the playground.

There is plenty of free parking (especially on Farmer St.) close to the venue, and also the Woodville Reserve Park has a lovely shaded playground with picnic tables.

For the days when you want to go and have a coffee or milkshake afterwards, the venue is just a short stroll from the Angove Street cafe strip.
