Have you ever wondered what's going on beneath your feet as you tread the streets of Melbourne? I have, ever since I saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back in 1990. As a result I was excited to read that I have the opportunity to find out, without having to delve underground.

Photographic artist Christian Pearson's recent project is a series of stunning photographic images showing the construction of the Northern Sewerage Project and the Melbourne Main Sewer Replacement Project. The exhibition, "Art of the Underground" is on show at the National Trust Tasma Gallery , 4 Parliament Place, East Melbourne from July the 17th until August the 17th. The gallery is open from 9am until 5pm on Monday to Friday. As part of Open House Melbourne it will also be open on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of July from 10am - 4pm with an artist floor talk at 2pm on Sunday the 29th. Entry is free.
