The Art of The Brick is a popular exhibition by New York artist Nathan Sawaya, a former lawyer, who is now an internationally celebrated professional Lego Master Model Builder.

After a successful run of The Art of the Brick exhibition in Melbourne, it is now Sydney''s turn to be captivated by the creative and imaginative world of 'brick artist' Sawaya.

Sawaya creates amazing 3D sculptures from the humble plastic Lego brick; some of his famous creations include the yellow, green, red and blue man sculptures.

Sawaya's latest creations include a curious sculpture entitled the Red-Headed Man, aka Conan O'Brien, an inspired Lego Bedroom, a spectacular piece entitled Pop-Up Book and a Mount Rushmore replica.

Sydneysiders will have the chance to come face to face with Sawaya's mind bending and intricate works of art at the upcoming The Art of the Brick exhibition, which will open at Sydney Town Hall from December 12th, 2011.

Highlights of the upcoming exhibition include the large scale T-Rex sculpture, a sculpture entitled Heartfelt and the interactive Pencil Fun sculpture.

The kids and big kids alike, are sure to be delighted with the grand displays of vivid colour and creativity.

This is bound to be a popular event, so it is worth pre-purchasing your ticket now, through Ticketmaster outlets and on the Ticketmaster website. The exhibition will be open for a strictly limited engagement - from December 12th, 2011 until February 5th 2012.

Ticket prices range from $17.50 for an adult, $12.50 for a child, $15 for a concession ticket and $50.00 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children.

Your Comment
After read the article I went and visited the exhibition. I was amazed at the amount of work and the amount of time it would have taken to build many of pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition overall. Thanks for letting us know about it.
