Art Month Sydney has just kicked off a month long celebration of all things art. From public lectures and workshops to exhibitions and special family events, this year's Art Month Sydney festival program is filled which some great 'artastic' events.

Festival program events include the Precinct Party events, which are free Art at Night events. There are 6 Precinct Party events scheduled for the month; locations include Paddington/Woollhara, Rozelle, Sullivan Strumpf Fine Art, Darlinghurst/East Sydney, Chippendale/Redfern and Surry Hills.

At each of these events, you are invited to visit a series of participating galleries in each respective location, and then enjoy some drinks and live DJ performances. Each location has a different event and exhibition program. For further details on this series of events, please click here.

Free workshops you can participate in include Drawing & Painting at Art Est and Sketch Club at Kudos Gallery.

These events are part of the Wonderful Weekend Workshop festival program. A workshop with a difference, which is also free, is Mobile Phone Photography and if you are a fan of traditional Korean paper, there is a free Korean Hanji workshop.

This events runs from March 1st to 25th and there are quite a few special events taking place under the Project Five banner. The Live Art Events will see The Rocks turn into a 'open-air art studio' with live art demonstrations and live DJ performances, plus there will be Artist Talks and a Retrospective Exhibition. For more information on Project 5, please click here.

For the family, there are quite a few workshops to choose from - including two workshops at Tali Gallery. Perambulating Prams in Paddington is a family friendly art tour and there is also a special book reading session of 'A Song for Lorkie'.
