The Toowoomba Art Society Gallery is presenting a Christmas Art Market in 2021. Handmade gift ideas at great prices. There are hundreds of unique items to stuff the Christmas stockings, direct from the easel. You could even make some savings on the prices which range from $5 to $40 or more. Other items for sale were shrubs, succulents ($2), handmade beaded necklaces, handcrafted fabric items such as large lavender sachets ($6), cloth bags ($8), cloth dolls ($10), handmade leather journals and second-hand books including 'how to' art books. An artist couldn't pass up handmade easels for $15.



The gifted members of the Toowoomba Art Society Gallery displayed their works of art, watercolours being the favourite. Hundreds of works were on sale at reasonable prices. There's a leisurely atmosphere and it's free entry. The artists are warm and friendly and happy to chat about art and their personal journey with it.



Catriona Fitzgerald of Art by Cat will be holding a Colour Mixing course for $50 on 29 January 2022 from 9am - 12pm. It's an introduction to colour theory, mixing and palettes helping to build the artist's confidence. Where do you start? Terese Eglington is an illustrator with a flair for writing as well. Her beautiful books were available: The Laughing Tree, Leonardo de Finchi and Nana Maisie are some of her works.



Have you ever wondered if you could paint? Even if you discovered you're not as gifted as you'd hoped, at least you would have had fun trying. The Art Society is looking for new members and would be happy to take your details or inquiry. With so many years of experience, they are well known and skilled tutors. Their Art Society was established in 1925 in the studio of a Miss Else Aebi. Their aim is to assist members with expert advice and to introduce members to other artists.

The Art Society Gallery's main interest is in workshops. They are normally open from 10am till 2pm. Their venue is Culliford House, adjacent to the Botanic Gardens on the corner with Queens Park, Lindsay Street, City.
