A weekend of events championing people of all abilities

Art is for everyone at the MCA! Come and join this FREE two-day event celebrating difference at the MCA!

Held on the weekend of 28 & 29 September 2019, 9am–5pm, Art is for Everyone weekend is a colourful, jam-packed festival offering an exciting program of inclusivity-focused tours, films and workshops.

Art is for Everyone weekend is a special opportunity to awaken with your creative side. Featuring a diverse and talented array of artists and collaborators, enjoy a range of events specifically tailored for people with disability or access requirements.

Over the fun-filled weekend, you can take part in a drawing workshop, meet Guide Dogs or move your body in the wonderful interactive artwork in the Bella Room.

Other Autism-friendly art experiences include an opportunity to tour the gallery before it opens and take part in collaborative workshops and join deaf-led tour with MCA Artist Educators, exploring Shaun Gladwell: Pacific Undertow and Illuminating the Wilderness (2018).

An Australian premiere screening, Illuminating the Wilderness (2018) is by Project Art Works, the leading UK artist-led organisation working with individuals with complex support needs (additional screenings until Monday 7 October). Project Art Works will also be facilitating free workshops in response to the film, to culminate in a large-scale drawing installation.

Check out the full line-up of workshops and special events here.

Art is for Everyone weekend is FREE to attend.
