A weekend of workshops for all artists

2013 marks the 21st anniversary of Art in Action, a popular art convention hosted by the Combined Art Societies of Sydney (also known as CASS).

Dubbed an 'art convention with a difference', this event will take place on Friday, May 17th to Sunday, May 19th and will consist of three days of interactive art workshops with talented Tutors from all around the country.

Participants in the 2013 event include Ken Strong, John Lacey, Ros Psakis, Susan Cesarini, Robyn Collier, John Wilson, Ken Taber, Paul McCarthy, Catherine Harry, Patrick Carroll, Jeanette Prout, Marijke Greenway, Catherine Hamilton, Herman Pekel, Malcolm Carver, Jacky Pearson, Shirley Hagarty, Ross Paterson and Nada O'Loughlin.

There will be workshops suited to beginner, intermediate and advanced artists and a wide range of mediums, techniques and styles will be covered, including watercolour, pastel, acyclic, oils and mixed media.

The cost of an individual Art in Action workshop is $125 (which includes Tuition, lunch & morning/afternoon tea). To ensure your place at a workshop, an additional registration fee of $50 is required.

All workshops will be held at the Merroo Conference Centre, Mill Road, Kurrajong and accommodation is available onsite, (including all meals from supper Friday night to lunch on Sunday, with morning and afternoon teas). For further details on the accommodation options, please click here.

This event is considered to be one of the biggest art events in New South Wales and is open to all artists. It provides a great opportunity for local artists to not only learn new techniques and styles from accomplished Tutors, but also allows the local art community to come together and celebrate their artistic interests.
