I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
On Saturday December 1, the Hunter Arts Network (HAN) will be hosting two art events at Civic Park in Cooks Hill. You can browse the works of local artists at the Summer Art Bazaar, or produce some art of your own at Art in the Park. The events will both run from 9.00am to 3.00pm and cost nothing to attend.

Summer Art Bazaar
The Hunter Arts Network hosts an art bazaar every season and the time has come for the 10th annual Summer Art Bazaar. On sale at the event will be original handcrafted goods from over 100 local artists, who will be offering jewellery, painting, clothes, dolls, bags, sculpture, ceramics, homewares and more. You can find an entire list of the stallholders here.

The Summer Art Bazaar is a great place to find unusual gifts and one-off pieces, just in time for Christmas. While you shop, take the opportunity to meet some of the artists and designers from the Hunter Region. You can also enjoy some artist demonstrations.

Art in the Park
If you want to produce your own art, you can participate in Art in the Park, which offers another great way to celebrate the Hunter's Art Community. Professional artists, students and dabblers in all mediums are invited to come along an set up an art practice. The City of Newcastle will help provide materials for children so that families are able to participate too.

If you would like to register your interest in attending either event, head to the Hunter Art Network's Facebook page, where you will also hear details about special giveaways closer to the day.
