Art Deco Now! is the latest annual exhibition proudly presented by The Embroiderers Guild, Victoria..This year's theme is inspired by the universally admired and accessible Art Deco design movement.The showcase features a diverse range of embroidery and textile art created by talented Embroiderers Guild members statewide, including traditional stitching and embellishment, as well as more contemporary textile artworks. The range of interpretation, colour and flare is sure to amaze and inspire.A special feature of the exhibition are works entered into the "All that Jazz" mini artwork challenge, judged by Linda Robertson, an artist and tutor from the Malvern Artists' Society. Experienced tutors will also give daily demonstrations of the many traditional and contemporary embroidery techniques taught at The Embroiderers Guild, Victoria. Selected items of historically significant embroideries and textile pieces will also be on display from the Guild's own Collection.Complementing the exhibition is a Gift Boutique stocked with quality, handmade items made by members.Art Deco Now! will run from 6 – 20 October 2018 at The Embroiderers Guild, Victoria, 170 Wattletree Road, Malvern 3144 Victoria.The exhibition is open from 10 am - 4 pm daily.Entry is $7 for members / students and $10 for non-members.
