Challenge yourself and try something interesting and exciting, join a 10 week Term of art lessons.
The new term starts Tuesday 19th April, 2016 to Saturday the 25th June, 2016 (inclusive). Budding artists of all ages are welcome to come along and participate in a class; whether you are a beginner or of an advanced skill level, there will be a class to suit your needs and interests.
The classes run Tuesday to Saturday inclusive, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm daily and 6pm to 9pm, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (excluding Friday 1pm - 4pm).
In each group class, participants will learn a range of new techniques and work with a variety of mediums under the guidance of facilitator Debra; these include Acrylic, Watercolour, Gouache, Pen and Ink, Mixed Media, Pastel Painting and drawing in Pencil, Watercolour Pencil, Pastel, Conte, Charcoal, Pen and Ink and Graphite Sticks.
Classes are held en plain air when weather permits or in the funky art studio, which offers great light for creating art. The studio also features inspiring tropical gardens with outdoor tables and chairs for students to enjoy the healthy morning or afternoon tea that is provided. Classes are limited to 7 students per session.
An art exhibition is held at the end of the year showcasing students' work, many of which are for sale (artworks that have been created using copyright images as reference material will not be sold).
Term fees are paid when booking the class with the art tutor who will provide you with the bank details. The full cost is $35 for 3 hours when paying by the term, which is 10 weeks in duration ($350) with students attending 1 lesson a week. Students who pay the full term fees will receive a free lesson so their term fees will be $315.
Students starting at a later date can pay for the remainder of the term pro rata (the remainder of the term) at $40 for 3 hours.
Students paying casually pay $45 for 3 hours.
Participants are not required to bring materials to their first class, at the end of the first class a list will be provided to students to enable them to purchase the art materials required for their second art class.
After the first lesson students who haven't bought along their materials are welcome to use the art tutors, this will incur a $10 fee per lesson. Students are also welcome to purchase art supplies from the art tutor.
This is a great opportunity to try your hand at something new and exciting as well as a fun way to meet like-minded people.
