I'm Walking In Sunshine
I have a theory that winter in South East Queensland is the best time for new discoveries in our home towns because we are no longer confined to air conditioning. I find it such a pleasure to be outdoors at this time of year!

So a few new activities to enjoy in Cleveland:

Yes, Cleveland Markets on a Sunday morning, along Bloomfield Street, may well be old news. So why not jazz up your next Sunday drive out to the Redlands, by picking up some fresh fruit and veg from the markets, and then making the short walk towards the Cleveland Railway Station, turning right towards the Raby Bay Restaurant Gardens for the new Art and Craft Market Stalls.

On the first Sunday of each month, from 10 am to 3 pm, there will be Art By The Boardwalk, a wide array of arts and crafts displayed around the gardens.

Local artisans and craft persons will be sharing their wares, so anticipate stalls with jewellery, crafts, sculptures, art and photography displays.

So this coming Sunday, June 7th, grab a coffee from the markets and then wander along the Boardwalk in search of your next great find.

There are a wide variety of cafes and restaurants in this precinct for both lunch and dinner, and gazing out onto the water always enhances the dining experience in my book.

Another recent discovery may also whet your whistle - literally.

An easy walk from both Bloomfield Street and the Raby Bay Restaurant Gardens is the Redlands ' very own boutique bar. Only recently opened ,The Bench, at Shop 8/18 -24 Middle Street, specialises in craft beer and ciders, as well as small batch Australian spirits and wines.

Though not a connoisseur I look forward to meeting he new beers from nicque brewing companies with names such as Stone & Wood Brewing, Green Beacon Brewing Co, and The Apple Thief.

The Bench is currently open from Thursday through to Sunday, from noon till late. For Groups of more than 8 prior notice is required in order to secure a table.

That's enough walking for me this Sunday.
