After the Hunter Arts Network's Art Bazaar Speers Point was cancelled due to the park being closed because of wet weather, another date had to be set. This event is now scheduled to occur on Sunday 22nd April 2018.

The Hunter Arts Network or HAN, as it is better known, is a non-profit incorporated organisation with a membership of artisans from the Hunter. The organisation was formed to incorporate and cater for the creative people from Newcastle and the Hunter who were producing high-quality art, craft and design-based work. The Newcastle City Council worked hard to establish HAN so representation could be given to the community's talented artists. Incorporated in December 2005, HAN was launched at the Newcastle Region Art Gallery in February 2006. Their goal is to promote their member's work through Art Bazaar and also in their newsletter, blog and social media.
Stallholder applications are now open by clicking here, although if you are holding a stall, it is a prerequisite to be a member of the Hunter Arts Network. The stall fee is $60 for a three-metre x three-metre site. If you were participating on the original date and cannot attend this date, you can opt for a refund by emailing the Treasurer on firstname.lastname@example.org, otherwise, you do not need to re-apply.
Speers Point Park is located on Route B57, Park Road Speers Point. The turnoff to the park is from The Esplanade. The area is beautified by the northern shores of Lake Macquarie or Awaba as it is called by the Aboriginal people who lived in the area thousands of years ago. The lake is Australia's largest coastal water lagoon and is noted as twice the size of Sydney Harbour.
As this event will be held only three weeks before Mother's Day, it is an excellent opportunity to grab a remarkable gift for your Mother. Kids bring your Dads to make your shopping easier. Entry is free.
