Trees with the special characteristic of scent
aromatic trees

Did you know that scent comes not just from flowers? The Aromatic Trees walk on Friday the 1st of October 2021 will highlight trees with richly scented flowers as well as those whose scent comes from their bark, foliage and wood.

This tour of the Waite Arboretum will be conducted by Friends of the Waite Arboretum guides who are very experienced in their field. The 27-hectare arboretum contains approximately 2500 specimens representing over 800 species in 200 genera. Your knowledge about the special characteristic of scent will surely be expanded.

There is no charge to participate in the walk, however, a maximum capacity of twenty people does apply. Bookings can be made via their Eventbrite website. Please wear closed sturdy shoes as the pathways in the arboretum are unformed. Weather-appropriate clothing is also recommended.

The Waite Arboretum is located along Walter Young Avenue in Urrbrae. You can park your vehicle for free at the Urrbrae House carpark.
