I am an academic living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne has to offer. You can also follow me on What's my DNA at https://travelfamily65.wordpress.com/author/travelfamily65/
It's always a big call to name anything the best. However, coming from Melbourne, Australia, where good coffee is de rigeur every day and in many cafes, I feel somewhat authorised to bestow that accolade on Aroma Kaffeebar
For Aussies and of course anyone else seeking excellent coffee, including single origin, a good crema and even coffee art on top of the frothed milk, this is the place to come. Each day a special coffee can be ordered so you can taste them all. What's more, the food is excellent too. Breakfast has a number of egg options, scrambled or fried, with additions of tomato, bacon, avocado, cheese and more. If you like spice in your eggs they can do that too with the addition of chilli oil. For lunch there are freshly made sandwiches and salads as well as sweet treats.
The café itself is very conducive to spending some time catching up with friends and enjoying the busy and somewhat quirky atmosphere. Child-sized tables and chairs invite families with small children. The music is cool without being too loud or too alternative, more Santana and Buena Vista Social Club style (at least on the day I was there). The staff are friendly and accommodating and add to the relaxed atmosphere. There is a social enterprise side to the café as well, as they collect old sunglasses to send to Nepal so don't forget to bring your old sunglasses with you.

If you would like to buy a gift or something to take home or for a summer picnic to eat and drink, there is that possibility too, a particularly important aspect in a city where shops are closed on Sundays.
So if you are searching for that great coffee in Munich, especially if it's a flat white, make sure you stop by Aroma Kaffeebar. You won't be disappointed.
