I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Arkarra Teagardens Cafe is a great spot for breakfast or lunch with a side of nature. Set in beautiful landscaped grounds in suburban Dundrowan they are open for breakfast through to afternoon tea seven days a week.
Lovely luncheon spot
Although very popular, it is possible to get a secluded position under a Bali Hut or shady umbrella where the low hum of conversation mingles with the various bird calls.
A light lunch
The menu includes classics such as eggs benedict, pancakes and fish & chips, as well as daily specials. Our delicious lunch choices of salad with salt & pepper calamari, steak sandwich and the 'special' prawn & mango salad were great value at $18.50 each. Plenty of refreshments are available including milkshakes, frappes, tea, wine and beer.
Prawn & mango salad
Order and pay at the counter and the friendly staff will bring the food to you, none of those annoying buzzers to spoil the atmosphere.
Arkarra Lagoons
After enjoying your meal, it is a good idea to take a walk around the lagoon to make some room for coffee and cake for dessert. There is a large variety of bird life here as well as small turtles in the water.
Meet the locals
The cafe caters for vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free and children's needs and has function menus available. Arkarra Tea Gardens Cafe offers diners a complete experience with tasty fresh food, friendly people and beautiful natural surroundings.
