How would you like to eat a meal worthy of a MasterChef? It's five stars all the way in this inner city restaurant.
Aria is the restaurant owned by celebrity chef and MasterChef regular Matt Moran and his long time business partner Peter Sullivan. The Brisbane location recently opened following the twenty year success of its Sydney counterpart and has quickly gained a reputation for being one of the cities fancier restaurants. It is located at Eagle Street Pier, where customers are afforded a view of the Brisbane River.
The menu is modern Australian with international influences – a hint of Asian, a dash of Mediterranean. Seafood features heavily on the menu, as do meats like duck, lamb and veal. Aria also boasts an extensive wine list, with more than 500 to select from, many of which are from the local Granite Belt.
The price tag is higher than that of a regular restaurant – a one course lunch is $35.00 while dinner entrees are around $30 and mains are around $50 – but, of course, you're paying for the view and the chef's name in a restaurant like this.
Aria is open for lunch Monday to Friday (12.30pm to 2.30pm) and for dinner Monday to Sunday. Opening hours differ slightly according to the day; see the website for more information.
Reservations are essential and can be made online.
