If you "ooh and coo" over architecture as I do, and love to watch shows such as
Grand Designs, then you are going to love this architectural tour of the Sunshine Coast.
But unlike in
Grand Designs you won't just get a peek into someone else's world, you will actually get to walk inside their architect designed homes. You'll get the feel of space and light and materials of interior design and exterior landscape gardening.

[ADVERT]It will give you a taste of what it would be like to live in such modern splendour and along the way, you will also learn a great deal about architecture.
The tour will be taken by
Lindy Atkin and
Stephen Guthrie from Bark Design who believe in integrating buildings into the natural landscape and in sustainable building practices.
This means that, amongst other things, they look for opportunities to utilise natural light, ventilation and cooling options
The other tour leader will be
Jolyon Robinson from Robinson Architects, another architect who is putting Sunshine Coast archiecture on the international stage.

I haven't done this particular tour but I have done one of the AAA 's (Australian Architectural Association's) tours in Sydney and it was amazingly well run, absolutely fascinating and worth every cent.
The AAA isn't a business, rather it is a not for profit organisation that promotes people to gain an understanding of both local and world architecture in Australia.
It is great that the AAA is branching out from Sydney, where they usually run their tours, as there is some incredibly innovative and world class architecture happening on the Sunshine Coast.
The tours include expert coverage by these knowledgeable and personable architects, lunch and all bus travel.
