The city has come to Liverpool, well Casula actually. A selection of this years Archibald Prize artworks are currently on display at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre until the 15th of January 2012. It's a real coup for Casula to be included as one of three regional centres that these prestigious artworks with be exhibited at and a blessing for the art lovers of Western Sydney, who can view a selection of Archibald Prize artworks without having to travel to the city.

The focus of attention is definitely the winning entry by Ben Quilty for his portrait of fellow artist, the iconic Margaret Olley. It's a large stunning piece of work that catches your attention with its size, broad strokes and arresting colours. Other striking notable portraits on display include that of actor Hugo Weaving and adventurer Jessica Watson.
