Arcadia is the latest play to feature at the Sydney Opera House's Playhouse Theatre. Performing until April 2, this comedic delight will captivate fans of Downtown Abbey, Jane Austen, Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen Hawking. You'll be enthralled for 2 hours and 45 minutes with an interval to catch your breath.

The compelling plot revolves around 2 couples, separated by two hundred years but sharing the same idyllic site - an English Manor house. Beginning in 1809, eager scholars push the boundaries of the Victorian age of curiosity, exploring the edges of chaos theory well before the term was coined. Anyone in a romantic relationship understands the intricacies of chaos theory and this studious pair are tackling the complex equations from both angles.

Stepping into the 21st century, another pair of scholars unravel the secrets lain dormant, challenging themselves to find a balance between fate and serendipity.

Tom Stoppard is the legendary playwright known for his Tony-award winning Travesties, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Real Thing and The Coast of Utopia. His script for Shakespeare in Love earned him an Academy Award.

His works have been magnificently directed by Richard Cottrell, still blushing after the success of Travesties staged in Sydney 7 years ago. He's joined by an extraordinary cast of talented Australian actors and actresses, able to portray the compelling drama with an enchanting measure of insight, pathos and playful timing, allowing the viewer to share their experience and leave the theatre with another 200 years of life's experience without the grey hair.

The cast includes Ryan Corr, best known for his Sex with Strangers (his acting in the TV series, not his lifestyle), Blazey Best, returning from her teaming with Cottrell in Travesties and Andrea Demetriades (no relation to the equally talented Alex), adding intrigue to the cast after dynamic roles in the popular TV series Crownies.
