Try the new sibling restaurant in St Kilda
Following up from their popular Araliya Hawthorn, Fitzroy Street in St Kilda has just welcomed a sister restaurant.
The second addition to the Araliya family; welcome Araliya St Kilda.
Since opening in 1985 Araliya Hawthorn has been treating diners to delicious and modern Sri Lankan inspired dishes using a variety of great produce and flavours such as coriander, cumin, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, and clove.
Taking this one step further, Araliya has opened up shop in St Kilda bringing a variety of dishes from small bites to large dishes.
Perfect for sharing, curried duck leg with pineapple chutney.
Step inside to find a sleek interior, with a long bar and plenty of space to socialise and enjoy a meal with family or friends.
You'll find items such as minced pork sliders, vegetable croquettes or scallops on a coconut roti to start followed up by grilled Queensland prawns in the shell, in a tomato and sun dried chilli sauce with ginger and lemon juice, or perhaps the crusted fish of tamarind, gamboge, and crushed black pepper on a fillet of fresh fish.
Larger sharing dishes that are perfect for the socialisers and those who want to try a little bit of everything on the menu include the 'Araliya Chicken' – roasted free range chicken with pistachio in a spice mixture with yogurt, or the large lamb shoulder braised and roasted with Sri Lankan herbs and spices on the bone served with mint chutney.
Gluten intolerant guests wont even miss out on the flat bread as there's a gluten-free flat option too!
You'll find all the flavour, atmosphere and history from the Hawthorn establishment has moved into this Fitzroy Street establishment.
