Make the most of the tropical weather - dine outdoors

There's something about a lazy day at the pool or beach that makes you crave a burger. A truly Australian tradition. So it was for us when we decided to order lunch at Aqua.

On a Sunday they have live music, and the restaurant is open verandah style and overlooking the pool, so it seemed like the perfect place to grab a couple of burgers. While they had a range of sophisticated tapas and Asian style dishes, the burgers seemed to be in most demand. On Sunday they have some long lunch specials too, small dishes to stretch out the afternoon.

The burger was filling, with bacon, cheese and salad, in a crusty roll. It came with thick hand cut chips and while priced at the $22 mark, it is all that you'll need.

The kids menu was reasonably priced, with the standard fare - fish and chips, pasta and so on. The kids pizza got the stamp of approval from my youngest.

There are lounges as well as table dining, and had I not promised to take the kids back to the pool, I could have happily kicked back with a couple of cocktails and enjoyed the music, as some of the luckier couples were doing.

Aqua is a popular restaurant, and bookings for the evening will avoid disappointment.
